Vietnam’s main medical and healthcare trade shows in 2027 are the 25th Vietnam Medipharm Expo and VIREC, the elderly care expo, both on 5–7 August at SECC in Ho Chi Minh City; Pharmedi (Pharmed & Healthcare Vietnam), usually held at SECC in September; and a spring Medipharm series in Hanoi. They suit device, pharma, ingredient and care-equipment suppliers.

What the 2026 edition looked like
The 24th edition opened on 30 July 2026. The Vietnam News Agency reported 300 businesses from 15 countries and territories on 380 booths. Vietnamese exhibitors named in the report included Lavitec, Semeco, F.T.Pharma and Wecare 247. A Deputy Chief of the Ministry of Health Office spoke at the opening, and seminars covered Vietnamese medicinal herbs, legal risk management under Decree 90/2026/ND-CP and ESG in pharma, plus business matching (VietnamPlus, 30 July 2026).
The organiser had forecast a larger show. Its February 2026 article spoke of “over 500 enterprises from 30 countries and territories”. For 2025, a VNA story republished by the organiser announced 450 exhibitors from 23 countries and territories, 500 booths and 12,000 expected visitors. The undated homepage counters read 400 companies, 450 booths, 15 countries and territories and 9,000 visitors. Plan around the independent 2026 count: 300 businesses and 380 booths.
The ingredients and machinery zone
The main change in 2026 was a dedicated WPE & WHPE pavilion for pharmaceutical ingredients and a PE-Tech zone for processing technology and equipment. VNA described them as connecting global suppliers with emerging markets, “particularly in pharmaceutical intermediates and natural extract production”. The organiser runs the zone with WORLDBOSON, whose WPE & WHPE series is held in Xi’an, China. For an API, excipient or tablet-press supplier, this zone puts you next to factory buyers rather than only distributors.
VIREC 2027: Vietnam’s aged care expo
VIREC, the International Exhibition on Elderly Care and Rehabilitation in Vietnam, runs 5–7 August 2027 at SECC, the same days and building as Medipharm, per its official site. It is organised by VINEXAD under the direction of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly, with the Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Association of Community Health Education listed as supporters. Its first edition was announced “for the first time in Vietnam” for 4–6 December 2025 in Hanoi, with about 100 booths (Bao Dau Tu, 24 September 2025).
For a company that exhibits at aged care expos in Australia, Japan or Europe — the people searching “aged care expo” — VIREC is the nearest Vietnamese equivalent. The site lists nine categories, from rehabilitation and therapy equipment and assistive devices to smart elderly care solutions, care services and infrastructure for older people. The 2025 pre-show report described foreign exhibitors bringing massage chairs, smart beds, electric wheelchairs, GPS canes with fall alerts and gait-training robots. The official site cites the General Statistics Office for more than 14.2 million people aged 60 and over, more than 14% of the population. No VIREC exhibitor or visitor count has been published yet.
Pharmedi and the Hanoi Medipharm series
Pharmedi – Pharmed & Healthcare Vietnam
The other large medical show at SECC is Pharmedi, also called Pharmed & Healthcare Vietnam. Its 21st edition ran 22–24 September 2026, visitor hours 09:00–17:00. According to Germany’s official German Pavilion page, the 2025 edition — the 20th — had 550 exhibitors from 24 countries and territories and about 9,425 visitors, and the 2026 edition announced more than 600 exhibitors from 20+ countries and 12,000+ expected trade visitors. Sixteen German companies exhibited in the 2026 German Pavilion, among them Rego X-Ray, Seramun Diagnostica, VISUS Health IT and Merz Maschinenfabrik. The German Pavilion is organised by LMI – Leipziger Messe International for the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy. 2027 dates were not on an official page we could open in October 2026; September at SECC has been the pattern. VINEXAD does not organise Pharmedi, so Wisematch is not its sales agent.
The spring Hanoi Medipharm series
Vietnam News reported on 4 May 2026 that the “annual Vietnam International Medical and Pharmaceutical Exhibition” would run 6–9 May 2026 at the Viet Nam – Soviet Friendship Labour Cultural Palace in Hanoi, with 400 booths from 300 businesses and more than 12,000 visitors expected. Exhibiting countries included India, Germany, the Czech Republic, South Korea, the US, Italy, Indonesia, Russia, Malaysia, New Zealand, Japan, Singapore, Thailand and China. Sections were VIETMEDICARE EXPO, VIETNAM HOSPITAL, VIETNAM DENTAL, MEDICAL TOURISM and SMART HEALTH. The series has been held “since 1994 by the Vietnam Medical Import-Export Joint Stock Company and Vietnam Advertisement & Fair Exhibition JSC in collaboration with the Vietnam Medical Equipment Association”. Trade-fair aggregators list the 36th edition for 6–9 May 2027 at the same venue; we could not confirm this on an official page.
The VINEXAD Hanoi edition
VINEXAD also ran a Hanoi edition: the 31st Vietnam Medipharm Expo on 4–6 December 2025 at I.C.E Hanoi, 91 Tran Hung Dao, with the Vietnam Pharmaceutical Companies Association, announced at about 150 booths from 100 businesses and 8 countries (Mekong ASEAN, September 2025). The first VIREC ran alongside it. No 2027 Hanoi date had been published as of October 2026. When a quotation says “Medipharm Hanoi”, ask which organiser, which edition number and which venue — the answer changes the audience and the support programme. Why exhibit at a medical trade show in Vietnam: five concrete reasons
1. Vietnam imports most of its medical technology and active ingredients
The US International Trade Administration’s Vietnam healthcare guide (31 March 2026, citing BMI) puts healthcare spending at over US$22 billion in 2024, 4.7% of GDP. Around 90% of medical equipment is imported. The device market was US$1.9 billion in 2024, forecast to reach US$2.8 billion by 2029 (8.2% a year). The pharmaceutical market was about US$6.4 billion in 2024, forecast at US$9.4 billion by 2029, with about 60% of finished products and 90% of active ingredients imported. A market that imports this much needs foreign suppliers, and it needs local partners to bring them in. That is what a fair floor is for.

2. The buyer you need — the registration-holding distributor — walks these floors
With government-funded hospitals at 86% of device purchases and public tenders the norm, the person who can place an order is usually the importer or distributor who will hold your registration and bid in tenders. For devices, the Ministry of Health’s Infrastructure and Medical Device Administration issues registration numbers for Class C and D devices, while provincial health departments handle notification for Class A and B (ITA). Decree 04/2025/ND-CP amended the device rules in January 2025. For medicines, the revised Pharmaceutical Law 44/2024/QH15 introduced reliance on approvals by stringent authorities, with clauses taking effect on 1 January and 1 July 2025. A medical fair lets you meet five or six potential registration partners in three days and compare them side by side, instead of flying in for one meeting at a time.
3. Ingredient and machinery buyers have their own zone
Vietnam imports about 90% of its active ingredients, and local manufacturers are investing in production. Medipharm’s WPE & WHPE and PE-Tech zones put API, excipient, extract and processing-equipment suppliers in one area of the hall, so factory buyers do not have to search through distributor stands. Few other shows in Vietnam offer that concentration in a dedicated pavilion.
4. Ageing creates a new category: VIREC
More than 14.2 million Vietnamese are aged 60 and over, over 14% of the population (GSO via VIREC). Vietnam had no dedicated elderly care expo until December 2025. A rehabilitation, mobility or home-care company that enters now faces fewer established competitors on the floor than at mature aged care expos abroad, and it shares SECC with Medipharm’s hospital and distributor traffic the same week.
5. European suppliers are under-represented relative to their import share
The EU supplied 54.3% of Vietnam’s pharmaceutical imports in 2025, and France alone US$486 million. Yet in the one published 2026 country list (Hanoi spring edition) only Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy appear among EU countries, and France does not. For a European company, that means less noise from compatriots and a clearer story — provided you bring a Vietnamese importer or registration partner into the conversation. Don’t go to trade shows to hope — go to control probability: book the meetings before you fly.

Our honest reading: a southern-focused supplier with a mid-sized budget gets most per day from Medipharm HCMC, because the same badge opens VIREC, Viet ColdChain, VILOG and ROBOTEX. A company that wants the biggest device floor in one hall should look hard at Pharmedi in September. A company whose distributor is in the north, or which sells hospital services, should consider the Hanoi spring edition. Many serious suppliers do two of the three across a year.
The healthcare week at SECC: cold chain, logistics and robotics
On 5–7 August 2027 SECC hosts five VINEXAD editions at once: Medipharm, VIREC, the Vietnam Logistics Expo (VILOG), Viet ColdChain and ROBOTEX. Viet ColdChain is where vaccine, biologics and temperature-sensitive drug distributors meet cold storage and refrigerated transport providers. How to exhibit at Vietnam Medipharm Expo 2027, step by step
- Now to January 2027 (7–9 months out): tell Wisematch your product, regulatory class and target buyers. We confirm whether Medipharm, VIREC or another show fits and send the floor plan and booth options: a private booth, or a place in a shared national or Wisematch-arranged stand.
- February–March 2027: sign the booth contract through Wisematch. Prepare your classification (A–D for devices) and your registration plan, because buyers will ask on day one. Prepare Vietnamese-language product sheets.
- April–May 2027: Wisematch starts the meeting list: importers, distributors, private hospital groups and, for ingredients, manufacturers. You approve targets so meetings are with the right ICP, not whoever walks past.
- June 2027: book sample and display-goods shipping. Medical products and pharmaceuticals can need extra import paperwork even as display goods; Wisematch coordinates with the forwarder and customs broker.

- 3–4 August 2027: stand build-up at SECC and a briefing with your interpreter.
- 5–7 August 2027: show days. Use your badge to walk VIREC, Viet ColdChain and VILOG between meetings.

What a medical fair in Vietnam will not do for you
A booth will not register your device or your medicine. It will not put you on a public hospital’s tender list, and it will not replace the Vietnamese importer who holds your licence. No organiser and no agent, Wisematch included, can promise a number of buyers or orders. What a well-prepared booth can do is compress months of partner search into three days: meet several serious distributors, compare them side by side, and leave with one or two worth a second visit. Plan the dossier, the partner and the follow-up before you plan the stand.

No. Vietnam Medipharm Expo in Ho Chi Minh City is VINEXAD’s show at SECC in early August. Pharmedi, or Pharmed & Healthcare Vietnam, is a separate show, also at SECC, usually in September; its 2025 edition had 550 exhibitors from 24 countries and territories, per the German Pavilion. Hanoi has its own spring Medipharm series under different organisers. Always check the organiser named on a contract.
Is there an aged care expo in Vietnam?

Do I need to register my medical device before exhibiting it?
Exhibiting and selling are different steps, but buyers will ask. Under Vietnam’s device rules, Class A and B devices are notified to provincial health departments, while Class C and D devices need a registration number from the Ministry of Health’s Infrastructure and Medical Device Administration, according to the US International Trade Administration. Bring your classification and a registration plan to the booth.
