Vietnam Expo 2027 is the 36th Vietnam International Trade Fair, held 13–15 May 2027 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC) in Dong Anh, Hanoi. It is hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and organised by VINEXAD. It suits foreign suppliers, national pavilions and consumer brands looking for importers, distributors and factory buyers in northern Vietnam.
Wisematch is an official sales agent of VINEXAD, the organiser of Vietnam Expo 2027. International companies can book booths, national pavilion space and visitor programmes for Vietnam Expo 2027 directly through Wisematch — one English-speaking contact on WhatsApp from enquiry to show day.
What Wisematch does for you
- Booth selection and contract: we send the current floor plan, explain which zone fits your product and handle the booking paperwork with VINEXAD.
- Shared stand or pavilion option: if a full booth is too much for a first visit, we book you a place in a group or national pavilion.
- Visa invitation letter support and travel planning for your team, including hotel areas that work for a venue in Dong Anh.
- Sample shipping and logistics: we coordinate with the official forwarder on temporary import, delivery to the hall and return.
- Buyer meeting list, interpreters and on-site support, then follow-up help after the show.

Vietnam Expo is Vietnam’s national multi-sector trade fair, run on behalf of the government. The Ministry of Industry and Trade is assigned by the government to host it, VIETRADE directs it and VINEXAD organises it (vietnamexpo.com.vn, 2026). That chain of command matters more than it looks: foreign trade promotion agencies treat the fair as an official venue for national pavilions, and Vietnamese ministries, provincial delegations and business associations attend in a way they rarely do at private shows.
It is not a single-industry show. Food, electronics, machinery, tools, digital services and country pavilions share one floor. That breadth is the fair’s strength and its limit. You meet several buyer types in three days, but you will not find 300 importers of one product in one hall. For that, a specialist show is the better tool, and we compare the options further down.
Vietnam Expo 2025, 2026 and 2027: how the fair has changed
Vietnam Expo has moved venue and date in the last three years. Here is what was reported for each edition.
| Edition | Dates | Venue | Reported scale | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 34th (2025) | 2–5 April 2025 | I.C.E Hanoi, 91 Tran Hung Dao | Over 400 businesses, 500 booths, 18 countries and territories | VnEconomy, 2 Apr 2025 |
| 35th (2026) | 8–11 April 2026 | VEC, Dong Anh (first time) | More than 500 booths, over 420 companies, half foreign, 20 countries and territories; participation up about 10% on 2025 | Vietnam News, 8 Apr 2026; Vietnam Pictorial (VNA), 9 Apr 2026 |
| 36th (2027) | 13–15 May 2027 | VEC, Dong Anh | Organiser’s homepage shows the same scale as 2026: 420+ companies, 500 booths, 20 countries | vietnamexpo.com.vn, October 2026 |
Three things follow for a 2027 exhibitor. The fair moved from early April to mid-May, so you have five more weeks to prepare than in past years. The 2027 projection repeats the 2026 result, so plan on a similar scale rather than a jump. And the venue is far larger than the fair: VEC’s Kim Quy hall has about 93,000 m² across ten halls (vec.global), so early bookers get a real choice of aisle and corner positions. One note on numbering: the organiser says the fair started in 1991, and the 36th edition in 2027 implies a few gaps or renumbering, so avoid writing “every year since 1991” in your own materials.
The five zones of Vietnam Expo 2027
- Food & Smart Consumption: packaged food, beverages, health products and consumer goods. Visitors include Hanoi importers, supermarket and convenience-chain buyers and the public on open days.
- International Pavilions: national and regional pavilions run by trade promotion agencies. In 2026 the Korea pavilion alone had more than 40 companies in cosmetics, food, toys, gifts and technology, with B2B matching (vietnamexpo.com.vn, 18 Mar 2026).
- Electronics & Industrial Machinery: plant managers and procurement teams, many from foreign-invested factories in Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen and Hai Phong.
- Digital Technology & E-commerce: software, platforms, payments and logistics technology, aimed at retailers, SMEs and digital-transformation programmes.
- Hardware & Hand Tools: overlaps with the co-located Vietnam Hardware & Hand Tools Expo. If tools are your only product, the specialist show is usually the better address.
Who visits Vietnam Expo
The 2026 edition was positioned as a B2B event built on direct matchmaking: meeting partners, finding importers and distributors, and exploring investment (VNA via VietnamNet, 18 Mar 2026). In practice the floor mixes five groups: importers and distributors from Hanoi and the northern provinces; procurement and engineering teams from FDI factories; retail and convenience-chain buyers; government trade officials and provincial delegations; and, on open days, consumers. The 2026 programme included a forum on green consumption in global e-commerce, a Belarus export products programme, dialogue and matching with Korean partners in automotive components and shipbuilding, a seminar on bringing Vietnamese supporting-industry firms into global supply chains, a site visit to the HANSSIP supporting-industry park, a DIY experience zone and an elevator forum run by the Vietnam Elevator Association.
Why exhibit at Vietnam Expo 2027: five concrete reasons
A trade fair is worth the trip only if it gets you something you cannot easily get another way. Here is what Vietnam Expo 2027 offers, with the numbers behind each point.
1. A government-hosted platform that opens doors a private show cannot
Vietnam Expo is the trade fair the Ministry of Industry and Trade hosts in its own name. Officials from the ministry and VIETRADE open it, foreign embassies and trade offices bring their pavilions, and the side programme is built with partners such as KOTRA and the Vietnam Elevator Association. For a foreign company that needs to be seen by ministries, provincial investment boards or industry associations, as well as by buyers, this is the most direct stage in Hanoi. It is also why national pavilions from Korea, Belarus and others return. A trade agency gets official visibility as well as a booth.
2. Northern Vietnam’s factory buyers in one hall
Most of what Vietnam imports goes into factories. In 2025, 93.6% of the country’s imports were production inputs and machinery and equipment alone were 52.7% (National Statistics Office, via VCCI). Total imports reached US$455.01 billion, up 19.4% (NSO via Vietnam News, January 2026). Much of that demand sits within two hours of VEC. Bac Ninh ranked second in the country for foreign investment in 2025, with about US$5.73 billion of FDI (VTV, 27 Jan 2026), and Hanoi attracted US$3.89 billion of FDI in the first nine months of 2025 alone, 2.9 times the year before (VnEconomy, Oct 2025). Every new plant needs equipment, materials, spare parts and services in its first years. The Electronics & Industrial Machinery zone and the co-located Hardware, Elevator and ROBOTEX shows put you in front of those buyers without a separate trip to each province.
3. Hanoi’s consumer market, and a route to a northern distributor
Hanoi’s economy grew 8.16% in 2025 to about US$69 billion, the second largest in Vietnam, and retail sales of goods and consumer services rose 12.7% to VND962.9 trillion, about US$40.1 billion (Hanoi Times, citing the Hanoi Statistics Office). Nationally, retail sales of goods and services grew 9.2% in 2025, with food and foodstuffs up 9.7% (NSO via VNA). The demand is there. The access is the hard part: consumer goods were only 6.4% of Vietnam’s 2025 imports, so foreign brands reach shelves through distributors who already hold registrations, warehouses and retail listings. Vietnam Expo’s Food & Smart Consumption zone and the national pavilions are where northern distributors look for new lines.
4. Four shows, one trip, one badge
Vietnam Expo 2027 opens alongside three specialist VINEXAD fairs at VEC on the same dates: the Vietnam Hardware & Hand Tools Expo, the Vietnam Elevator Expo and ROBOTEX Vietnam. The hardware show’s Hanoi site reports 300 exhibitors, 400 booths, 15 countries and 12,000 visitors for its 2026 edition (hn.hardwaretools.com.vn). For an industrial or building-products supplier, that means four audiences in one hotel booking: general importers, tool and hardware distributors, construction and lift buyers, and automation teams. Book your booth where your product fits best and walk the other three.
5. A new national venue, and time to prepare
VEC opened on 19 August 2025 on a 90 ha site, with floors rated to five tonnes per m² for heavy exhibits (Tuoi Tre News). A 500-booth fair uses only part of it, which gives exhibitors room to choose position and to bring machines that older Hanoi venues could not take. The move to 13–15 May also gives you a clear six and a half months from today to book, register products and build a meeting list, which is enough time to do it properly.

Vietnam Expo Hanoi, Vietnam Expo HCMC or a specialist show?
Exhibitors often ask whether the Hanoi edition, the Ho Chi Minh City edition or a specialist fair is the better first step. The answer depends on who you need to meet.
| Vietnam Expo Hanoi | Vietnam Expo HCMC | Specialist show (e.g. Vietfood, Medipharm, VILOG) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2027 dates | 13–15 May | 2–4 December | June to November, by sector |
| Venue | VEC, Dong Anh | SECC, Ho Chi Minh City | Mostly SECC; some at VEC |
| Edition | 36th | 25th | Varies (Vietfood HCMC: 31st) |
| Buyer type | Mixed: government, importers, FDI procurement, public on open days | Mixed, with the southern consumer market and factory belt nearby | One industry’s buyers |
| Focus | Industrial machinery, digital tech, food, country pavilions | Food, household electronics, home and garden, DIY tools | One sector in depth |
| Cost profile | One booth covers several buyer types; travel to Dong Anh adds local transport | Similar booth model; larger fair, more competition for attention | Higher return per contact if your product matches; little reach outside the sector |
| Best for | Country pavilions, multi-product firms, the northern industrial market | Consumer and household brands targeting the south | Companies with one product line and a clear buyer profile |
One approach that works for first-time entrants: exhibit in Hanoi in May, use the summer to follow up and register products, then return for the August specialist block or the Vietnam Expo HCMC edition in December with a distributor already in place. Two fairs seven months apart show buyers that you intend to stay. If food is your only line, compare Vietfood & Beverage – ProPack HCMC 2027 before deciding.
Who should exhibit at Vietnam Expo 2027, who should visit, and who should not
| Company type | Fit | How to take part |
|---|---|---|
| Trade promotion agency or chamber running a country pavilion | Strong | Pavilion space in the International Pavilions zone, with B2B matching |
| Machinery, components or industrial inputs for factories in the north | Strong | Booth in Electronics & Industrial Machinery, or the co-located Hardware, Elevator or ROBOTEX show |
| Packaged food or consumer brand looking for a northern distributor | Good | Booth in Food & Smart Consumption or a place in your national pavilion |
| Company with several product lines testing which one Vietnam wants | Good | One shell-scheme booth showing a short range |
| Foreign buyer or sourcing manager looking at Vietnamese suppliers | Visit | Visitor programme with pre-booked meetings; see sourcing in Vietnam |
| Company needing hundreds of importers from one sector | Weak | Choose the specialist show for your sector |
| Fresh or chilled food without a cold-chain plan for the show | Weak | Wait until logistics and registration are solved |
| Company expecting retail sales at the booth to pay for the trip | Not a fit | The value is in distributor and buyer meetings, not booth sales |

How to exhibit at Vietnam Expo 2027, step by step
We count back from 13 May 2027. As of this update you have about six and a half months, which is comfortable if you start now.
- Now to November 2026: decide your format. Independent booth, a place in your national pavilion, or a visitor programme first. Wisematch checks with VINEXAD which pavilions are planned and sends you the current floor plan.
- By December 2026: choose your zone and position. Use the zone list and fit table above. We tell you which neighbours and aisles suit your product and reserve the space in your name.
- By January 2027: confirm the booth and the build. Raw space suits companies with their own stand builder; a shell scheme with walls, fascia, lighting and basic furniture suits first-time exhibitors. Wisematch handles the contract and keeps you on the organiser’s deadlines for fascia names, catalogue entries and extra services.
- February–March 2027: product registration and samples. Food, cosmetics, medical devices and electrical goods may need Vietnamese registration or conformity marking before they can be sold. We tell you what applies to your product and arrange temporary import of show samples through the official forwarder.
- March–April 2027: visas, travel and buyers. Your team applies for an e-visa or uses a visa exemption; we provide invitation-letter support where needed. In parallel we help you build a list of 30–50 named Vietnamese buyers and send invitations in Vietnamese. Don’t go to trade shows to hope — go to control probability.
- Show days, 13–15 May 2027: run the booth. Interpreters and on-site support from Wisematch. Qualify every visitor with three questions: what they buy, the volume per year, and who decides.
- By 22 May 2027: follow up. Reply to every qualified lead within a week with prices, Incoterms and sample terms, in Vietnamese where possible. We help with translation and second meetings.
Booth types and what to ask for
Prices change by edition and booth type, so we do not publish them here; Wisematch sends the current rate card on request. When you compare options, ask about each of these cost lines: raw space or shell scheme; stand design and build; extra power, water or compressed air for machines; freight, temporary import and re-export; product registration; flights, hotels and daily transport to Dong Anh; interpreters; Vietnamese catalogues; and the follow-up trip or samples after the show. That last line decides whether the first trip pays off.
Visa and entry
Vietnam issues e-visas of up to 90 days to all nationalities at evisa.gov.vn. Citizens of 12 countries, including Germany, France, Japan, South Korea and the UK, have a 45-day visa exemption under Resolution 44/NQ-CP. Our business visa guide for trade fairs covers the details.
Getting to VEC Hanoi and planning the trip

- Location: Dong Anh, north of the Red River, on the road towards Noi Bai International Airport.
- From the airport: about 15 minutes (Tuoi Tre News, 2024), useful for one-day visits.
- From the city centre: allow 30–45 minutes at peak times and plan meetings with that in mind.
- The venue: opened 19 August 2025 on a 90 ha site; the Kim Quy hall has ten halls and about 93,000 m².
- Hotels: the operator says a JW Marriott next to VEC is expected in 2027, so do not count on it for May. Most exhibitors stay in Hoan Kiem, Tay Ho or Ba Dinh and travel out daily. More on the venue in our VEC Hanoi events guide.
What a booth at Vietnam Expo will not do for you
No organiser and no agent can promise you a number of buyers or orders at Vietnam Expo, and we do not. A booth gives you three days of access to a mixed crowd. It will not register your product in Vietnam, set your price against Chinese competitors — China supplied US$186.0 billion of Vietnam’s 2025 imports (NSO, via VCCI) — or turn business cards into orders without follow-up. What you take home depends on the meetings booked before you arrive and the replies you send in the week after. No empty promises — we measure ourselves by real deals, and we would rather tell you a show is wrong for you than sell you a booth that cannot work.
