VHHE is Vietnam’s specialist trade show for hand tools, power tools, fasteners, construction hardware, industrial equipment and workplace safety gear. VINEXAD has run it in Ho Chi Minh City since 2016: the Hanoi site states “10 editions held successfully in Ho Chi Minh City (2016–2025)”. In April 2026 the show added a Hanoi edition at the new Vietnam Exhibition Center. The organiser and Vietnam News describe it as the only UFI-approved hardware and tools exhibition in Vietnam; that is the organiser’s claim, worth checking on the UFI list if it matters for your budget approval.

People search for it as “Vietnam hardware show”, “Vietnam hardware fair”, “Vietnam hardware expo” or “VHHE”. All refer to this event. It has nothing to do with HardwareZone, the consumer technology forum that appears in searches for “Vietnam hardwarezone”.

Who exhibits: Vietnam hardware manufacturers and foreign brands

For the 2025 HCMC edition the organiser named regular exhibitors such as Đinh Lực, Patta, Markwell, Blueshark, Mr. Monkey, United Jumbo, Viet-Screw, Phú Thái, Disen Tools, Minglei Tools, Minh Khang, Wedo Tools, Vinh Thái, Cibon, Technomate, Zen Mark and Tecomaco, plus “hundreds of new brands” from Taiwan (China), Hong Kong (China), Japan, Singapore, Thailand, China and Italy. Fastener World, which exhibited, reported that most exhibitors were Chinese hardware companies showing electric drills, screws, nails, wrenches and elevator parts. For Hanoi 2026 the organiser listed 3M, Bosch, Makita, Kärcher, Stanley, Knipex, KS Tools, Bessey, Stabila, Elora, Delta Plus, Jasic, Unicom, MTC, Mekamic, Goldtol Tools, Weldcom, An Mi Tools, S.N.Y Vina and TCIM (VN). Global brands at VHHE are usually shown by their Vietnamese distributors, so those booths tell a new brand exactly who already distributes its competitors.

Who visits, and how the buyer area works

The organiser names sourcing teams, distributors, importers, dealers and hardware supermarkets as the core audience, and also welcomes DIY users. For the 2025 HCMC edition it ran a VIP Buyer area with separate check-in, one-to-one meetings arranged on request, a lounge and a buyer kit. The invitation targeted import-export and trading companies, distributors and agents, store chains and supermarkets, and explicitly declined logistics, consulting, e-commerce and media firms to keep meetings relevant (hcm.hardwaretools.com.vn, 25 Nov 2025). Fastener World reported that the professional buyers and wholesale traders it met were mostly interested in forming machinery and hammer drills, and wanted detailed performance data and reliable original manufacturers.

Why exhibit at the Vietnam Hardware & Hand Tools Expo: five concrete reasons

1. Construction and factory demand is growing, and both drive tool sales

Vietnam’s domestic cement consumption rose 13% in 2025 to 75 million tonnes, supported by public investment and the acceleration of key infrastructure projects (Ministry of Construction, via Global Cement, 5 Jan 2026). On the factory side, machinery and equipment made up 52.7% of Vietnam’s imports in 2025 (NSO, via VCCI), and the country bought US$21.3 billion of machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts from China in the first seven months of 2025 alone, up 35.5% (Vietnam Customs, via VietnamNet). Every building site and every new plant consumes fasteners, power tools, PPE and maintenance equipment. VHHE is the one show in Vietnam built around that demand.

2. Buyers want brands with a local agent, and the show is where they find them

Fastener World’s 2025 report found that Vietnamese buyers prefer brands with local agents, to secure after-sales service and stable supply, and that exporters faced stricter customs inspections and more complicated clearance. That is the practical case for exhibiting: if you sell tools into Vietnam without a distributor, buyers hesitate; if you meet two or three importers who already supply dealers and hardware shops, you solve both the service question and the customs question. The distributors showing Bosch, Makita or Stanley at the show are obvious first conversations.

3. Hanoi puts you next to the FDI factories of the north

The Hanoi edition was framed around localisation and supply chains. Its 2026 side events included a policy dialogue with Korean auto-parts firms (VIETRADE, KOTRA, the Industry Agency and VIOIT), a VCCI seminar on supply-chain integration, an Amazon Global Selling workshop and a visit to the HANSSIP supporting-industry park (organiser, 25 Mar 2026). If your buyers are maintenance and procurement teams at electronics and auto-parts plants in Bac Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong and around Hanoi, this is the edition built for them, with floors at VEC rated to five tonnes per m² for machine exhibits.

4. Ho Chi Minh City has ten years of dealer relationships

The HCMC edition has run since 2016 and brings hardware distributors, building-material shops, retail chains and DIY buyers from the south. Its 2025 programme combined a seminar on the draft national elevator standard, an Amazon export seminar, a Hiep Phuoc industrial park tour and a DIY workshop with Makita. The Indian Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City described the 2025 edition as Vietnam’s only specialised hardware and hand tools exhibition, with 350 enterprises, more than 400 booths and a target of 15,000 professional visitors serving construction, automotive, furniture, gardening and heavy manufacturing.

5. A market-entry show for exporters from India, Taiwan and Europe

The global hand tools market was about US$34 billion in 2022 and power tools US$63 billion; India exports about US$600 million of hand tools, a 1.8% share, from clusters in Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Nagpur and Nagaur; the US and EU take 55–60% of world tool imports (NITI Aayog via PIB, 22 Apr 2025). Vietnam is not a volume market like the US, but it is growing and less crowded with non-Chinese suppliers. Treat VHHE as a market-entry show: bring a clear reason to switch from Chinese supply (forged quality, certifications FDI factories require, consistent lead times, a stronger warranty) and come to sign a distributor, not to sell from the booth. Ask your export promotion council whether a group booth is planned; India had a 200 m² pavilion at Vietnam Expo HCMC 2023, which ran alongside VHHE (organiser release).

Pick by buyer, not by city size. A serious supplier can use Hanoi in May to meet FDI buyers and HCMC in December to sign distributors; a first-time exhibitor should choose one and visit the other. How to exhibit at VHHE 2027, step by step

Timeline for the Hanoi edition (13–15 May 2027)

  1. November–December 2026: choose your edition and format. Wisematch sends the Hanoi floor plan and the 2026 exhibitor list. If you can, walk the HCMC edition on 3–5 December 2026; we can arrange a visitor programme.
  2. By January 2027: reserve the booth. Independent booth or group booth. Book early if you need a corner for machine demonstrations; we handle the contract with VINEXAD.
  3. February–March 2027: compliance and samples. Power tools and electrical equipment may need conformity marking before sale in Vietnam. We tell you what applies and arrange temporary import of show samples through the official forwarder.
  4. March–April 2027: buyers, visas, travel. We help build a list of 30–50 named buyers (distributors, FDI maintenance managers, hardware chains) and send invitations in Vietnamese. Your team applies for e-visas; we provide invitation-letter support. Clear ICP, right buyer, faster close: a sharp buyer profile gets you the right meetings.
  5. 13–15 May 2027: show days. Interpreters and on-site support from Wisematch. Qualify each visitor: what they buy, annual volume, who decides.
  6. By 22 May 2027: follow up every qualified lead with prices, Incoterms and sample terms.

For the HCMC edition, work back the same way from 2 December 2027.

Booth types and cost lines to ask about

Booth rates change by edition, so we do not publish them here; Wisematch sends the current rate card on request. Ask about each line: raw space or shell scheme; stand build; extra power or compressed air for demonstrations; heavy-exhibit handling; freight, temporary import and re-export; interpreters; Vietnamese catalogues and price lists; and the cost of sending samples after the show.

Visa and entry

An e-visa of up to 90 days is available to all nationalities at evisa.gov.vn. Indian passport holders should use the e-visa; 12 countries including Germany, France, Japan, Korea and the UK have 45-day exemptions under Resolution 44/NQ-CP. Details in our trade fair visa guide.

Getting to VEC and SECC

Hanoi: Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC), Dong Anh

  • Opened 19 August 2025; the Kim Quy hall has about 93,000 m² over ten halls (vec.global), with floor loads up to five tonnes per m² (Tuoi Tre News, 2025).
  • About 15 minutes from Noi Bai International Airport (Tuoi Tre News, 2024); allow 30–45 minutes from central Hanoi at peak times.
  • Hotel stock next to the venue is limited; most exhibitors stay in central Hanoi. See our VEC Hanoi events guide.

Ho Chi Minh City: SECC, 799 Nguyễn Văn Linh

  • The 2025 edition used Hall B. SECC’s halls are column-free with a 76 m span and a 5,000 kg/m² floor load, but Hall B’s rating applies to static exhibits because it sits over a basement (SECC). Flag running machines early.
  • About 20 minutes from the city centre and 45 minutes from Tan Son Nhat airport; Cat Lai port is 11 km away (SECC). See our SECC events list.

What a booth at the Vietnam Hardware & Hand Tools Expo will not do for you

A booth gives you three days in front of distributors, contractors and factory buyers. It will not certify your power tools for sale in Vietnam, clear your samples through stricter customs checks, set your price against Chinese competitors, or turn business cards into orders. Visitor figures for both editions are organiser targets, not audited counts. No organiser or agent can promise a number of buyers or deals, and we do not. Don’t go to trade shows to hope — go to control probability: the return comes from the meetings you book before the show and the speed of your follow-up after it.

Frequently asked questions

When is the Vietnam Hardware & Hand Tools Expo 2027?

There are two editions. The Hanoi edition runs 13–15 May 2027 at the Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC), Dong Anh, as confirmed on the official site. The Ho Chi Minh City edition runs 2–4 December 2027 at SECC.

How do I book a booth at the Vietnam Hardware & Hand Tools Expo?

Through Wisematch, an official sales agent of VINEXAD, the organiser. Send us your products, target buyers, preferred edition and booth size on WhatsApp (+84 354 624 102) or by email. We reply the same working day in English with booth options, the floor plan and next steps, and handle contract, logistics and on-site support.

How big is the Vietnam hardware show?

The 10th HCMC edition in December 2025 had 450 booths on more than 6,000 m², according to Fastener World, with 380 companies from 15 countries expected by the organiser. The Hanoi site shows 300 companies, 400 booths and 12,000 visitors next to its 2026 show report. Neither edition publishes an audited post-show count.

Is the HCMC edition different from the Hanoi edition?

Yes. HCMC has run since 2016 and draws more distributors, hardware retail and DIY visitors, with Chinese, Taiwanese and Vietnamese makers well represented. Hanoi started in 2026 at VEC and focuses on supporting industries and FDI supply chains, with side events for auto-parts suppliers and industrial-park visits. Choose by where your buyers are.

What is “triển lãm ngũ kim và dụng cụ cầm tay”?

It is the Vietnamese name of this show: the International Exhibition on Hardware and Hand Tools. “Ngũ kim” means hardware and “dụng cụ cầm tay” means hand tools. Vietnamese buyers and distributors search with this phrase, so use it in your invitations, catalogues and booth signage alongside the English name.

Can buyers book one-to-one meetings at VHHE?

Yes. In 2025 the organiser invited importers, trading companies, distributors, chains and supermarkets to register for a VIP Buyer area with one-to-one meetings arranged on request, and excluded logistics, consulting, e-commerce and media firms. Registration closed days before the show, so register early. Wisematch can arrange this for international buyers.
