VIREC 2027, the International Exhibition on Elderly Care and Rehabilitation in Vietnam, runs 5–7 August 2027 at SECC, Ho Chi Minh City, alongside Vietnam Medipharm Expo. VINEXAD organises it with Ministry of Health and Vietnam Association of the Elderly support. It suits rehab, assistive-device, home-care and care-home suppliers looking for Vietnamese distributors and operators.

Wisematch is an official sales agent of VINEXAD, the organiser of VIREC 2027. International companies can book booths, national pavilion space and visitor programmes for VIREC 2027 directly through Wisematch — one English-speaking contact on WhatsApp from enquiry to show day.

What Wisematch does for you

  • Booth selection and contract: we send the floor plan, tell you whether VIREC or the Medipharm halls next door suit your buyer better, and handle the booking with VINEXAD.
  • Shared stand or pavilion option: if a full booth is too much for a young show, we book you a place in a group or national pavilion.
  • Visa invitation letter support and travel planning for your team.
  • Logistics for bulky demo equipment (beds, lifts, therapy machines): temporary import through the organiser’s appointed forwarder, delivery to the hall and return.
  • Buyer meeting list of distributors, care-home operators and rehab clinics, interpreters for live demonstrations, and follow-up help after the show.

VIREC is a specialist trade exhibition for products, services and technology that serve older people. It is young. Bao Dau Tu, the Ministry of Finance’s investment newspaper, reported in September 2025 that VIREC 2025 would be held “for the first time in Vietnam” on 4–6 December 2025 at I.C.E Hanoi, 91 Tran Hung Dao, with about 100 booths, organised by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly and VACHE together with VINEXAD. Mekong ASEAN reported that it ran in parallel with the 31st Vietnam Medipharm Expo in Hanoi on the same dates.

For 2027 the show moves south and joins Ho Chi Minh City’s August healthcare week. That move matters more than it looks. The Medipharm halls already draw distributors, clinic owners and factory buyers to SECC every summer. A young, focused show gains a much larger trade audience by sitting next to an established one, and exhibitors gain two audiences with one booth. The organiser describes VIREC as a meeting point for organisations, businesses, experts and operators in elderly healthcare at home and abroad, with seminars and policy round tables alongside the exhibition.

A note on the name: searches for “virec” also return “virecruit” and “virec inc”, which are unrelated. On this page, VIREC means only the Vietnam exhibition.

What is on show at VIREC: nine product categories

The official site lists nine categories. We have added the buyer each one usually sells to in Vietnam.

VIREC categoryExamplesTypical Vietnamese buyer
Health and wellness (sức khỏe và dưỡng sinh)Massage and wellness equipment, supplements, herbal productsDistributors, pharmacy chains, families
Rehabilitation and therapy equipmentGait trainers, physiotherapy machines, laser and electrotherapy devicesDevice distributors, rehab clinics, hospital rehab departments via tender partners

Special services for older peopleTravel, insurance, financial and legal servicesPartners and referrers
Infrastructure for older peopleAccessible design, lifts, call systems, smart-home careSenior-housing developers, hospital builders

The 2025 pre-show announcement described the exhibits planned for the first edition: therapeutic massage chairs, smart beds that assist movement, self-navigating electric wheelchairs, GPS smart canes with fall-alert sensors, gait-training robots and low-level laser devices for joint rehabilitation from foreign companies; and herbal products, nutritional supplements and remote-monitoring apps for blood pressure, blood glucose and heart rate from Vietnamese companies (Bao Dau Tu, September 2025). The split tells you where competition sits: foreign exhibitors bring equipment and technology, Vietnamese exhibitors bring consumables, supplements and apps. If you make equipment, your competitors at VIREC are mostly other importers, not local manufacturers.

Why exhibit at VIREC 2027

1. Vietnam is ageing fast, and the gap between long life and healthy life is wide

Vietnam entered its “ageing phase” in 2011 and is projected to become an “aged society” after 2036. Life expectancy reached 74.7 years in 2024, but healthy life expectancy is around 65 years (VNA via VietnamNet, 26 December 2025). That gap of roughly a decade is the market for rehabilitation, chronic-care monitoring, assistive devices and care services. In 2024, people aged 65 and over made up 9.3% of the population, up 1.6 percentage points in five years (GSO figures via Vietnam Briefing, June 2025). On the wider 60-plus measure, the organiser cites the General Statistics Office at more than 14.2 million people, over 14% of the population, while UNFPA figures reported by VNA give 12.6 million (12.8%) and 22 million (20%) by 2038. The sources differ on timing, not direction; quote one and name it.

2. Policy is moving towards care, not only pensions

The National Assembly passed Vietnam’s first Population Law on 10 December 2025. The Department of Population said policies for elderly care and ageing adaptation will be refined under it (VNA via VietnamNet, 26 December 2025). The draft version proposed extending health insurance to uninsured older people and strengthening social protection (Vietnam Briefing, June 2025). The Law on the Elderly has been in force since 2009. Policy that funds care and insurance creates buyers for equipment and services; a supplier who meets the right distributor now is in place when that spending arrives.

3. Almost all medical equipment is imported, so distributors want foreign brands

The US International Trade Administration (published 31 March 2026, citing BMI) values Vietnam’s medical device market at US$1.9 billion in 2024, forecast to reach US$2.8 billion by 2029, and says around 90% of medical equipment is imported. Non-communicable diseases account for about 80% of deaths (WHO, cited by the ITA). Many VIREC products, from blood-pressure monitors to rehab machines, are medical devices under Vietnamese rules, and Vietnamese distributors are used to carrying foreign lines. A distributor met at VIREC can also take your range into the Medipharm halls next door.

4. One booth, two audiences: VIREC visitors plus the Medipharm trade floor

VIREC shares SECC and its dates with the 25th Vietnam Medi-Pharm Expo, which had 300 businesses from 15 countries at 380 booths in 2026 (VNA) and admits trade and business visitors only. Its exhibit profile already includes eldercare and rehabilitation. In practice, many VIREC visitors will be Medipharm visitors: device distributors, pharmacy chains, clinic owners and hospital staff. The same week, VILOG and Viet ColdChain are also at SECC, useful if you need a warehouse or distribution partner for bulky equipment.

5. Asia-Pacific’s silver economy is the larger prize, and Vietnam is earlier on the curve

UNESCAP projects the share of people aged 60 and over in Asia-Pacific to rise from 13.6% in 2020 to almost 25% in 2050, and the region is among the fastest-ageing in the world (cited by the organiser, June 2025). Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China already sell care products into ageing home markets. Vietnam is a few decades behind on the same curve, which is why their companies appear at shows like VIREC. For a supplier already selling in those markets, Vietnam is an early-entry market where distributor relationships are still open.

VIREC vs other aged care expos

If you searched “aged care expo”, most results point to Australian events in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, or to the large senior-care fairs in China. Here is how VIREC compares with the nearest alternatives.

VIREC is the small, focused option. Its value is not size: it is the only Vietnamese show we found with this exact scope, it sits next to the main southern healthcare fair, and the buyers are still choosing which foreign care brands to carry. For a Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, European or Australian supplier, it is a way to test Vietnamese distributor interest without the cost of a major regional show. Practical advice: book in the hall where your primary buyer walks. Rehab equipment aimed at hospitals and device distributors may do better in the Medipharm halls; products for care homes and families fit VIREC’s focused audience. We help you decide before you sign.

Companies needing a large, purely professional audienceChoose the Medipharm hallsVIREC is small and young
Brands with no warranty or service capacity in VietnamWaitBuyers ask about service before price

Behind that table is one rule: pick one primary buyer. A booth built for families (demonstrations, retail prices) looks different from one built for distributors (margin sheets, registration files) or care homes (facility packages). Trying to serve all of them spreads a small booth too thin. ICP rõ → gặp đúng buyer → chốt nhanh.

On regulation, the ITA summarises the device rules this way: Class A and B devices need notification with a provincial Department of Health; Class C and D need a registration number from the Ministry of Health’s Infrastructure and Medical Device Administration. Decree 04/2025/ND-CP amended the device decree, and a replacement law is being drafted. Furniture, daily-living products and services without medical claims follow ordinary import rules; food supplements have their own registration. Classify your product before you choose samples. This is not legal advice.

How to exhibit at VIREC 2027, step by step

We count back from 5 August 2027. As of this update you have about nine and a half months, enough to sort the regulatory questions before you ship anything.

  1. November 2026: decide your format and hall. VIREC booth, Medipharm booth, a group or national pavilion, or a visitor programme first. Wisematch sends the floor plan and explains where VIREC sits relative to the Medipharm entrances.
  2. December 2026: get the facts in writing. We ask the organiser for VIREC 2025 results (exhibitors, visitors, and the share of trade versus public visitors), the 2027 visitor rules, and which associations will bring delegations. The Vietnam Association of the Elderly and VACHE are listed supporters; we ask whether provincial branches and member facilities will be invited.
  3. January 2027: choose your primary buyer. Distributor, care home, rehab clinic or family. That choice sets your booth design, samples and price lists.
  4. February–March 2027: classify and partner. Confirm your device class under Vietnamese rules and start talking to distributors who can hold the notification or registration. We help you shortlist candidates before the show.
  5. March–April 2027: confirm booth type and build. Raw space suits live demonstration set-ups such as a mock care room. A shell-scheme booth with walls, fascia, lighting and basic furniture suits first-time exhibitors. SECC Halls A and B are column-free with a floor load of 5,000 kg/m² (Hall B for static exhibits only), so beds, lifts and therapy machines are not a problem; we check power for live demos. Wisematch handles the contract and the organiser’s deadlines.
  6. May–June 2027: shipping, visas and invitations. Demonstration devices may need temporary-import paperwork even if they will not be sold; we arrange it through the organiser’s appointed forwarder (Cat Lai Port is 11 km from SECC). Your team applies for an e-visa at evisa.gov.vn (up to 90 days, all nationalities) or uses the 45-day exemption for 12 countries including Japan, Korea, Germany, France and the UK; we provide invitation-letter support where needed. We invite 30–50 named distributors, care-home operators and rehab clinics in Vietnamese. Don’t go to trade shows to hope — go to control probability.
  7. Show days, 5–7 August 2027: run the booth. Interpreters and on-site support from Wisematch. Qualify every trade visitor: which channel they sell through, how many facilities or stores they supply, and who handles registration. Walk the Medipharm halls with your badge.
  8. By 14 August 2027: follow up in Vietnamese. Send terms, registration plans and demo offers within a week. We help with translation and second meetings.

SECC is about 20 minutes from central Ho Chi Minh City and 45 minutes from Tan Son Nhat International Airport, per the venue. See our business visa guide for trade fairs, the list of SECC events in 2027 and our overview of medical and healthcare trade shows in Vietnam 2027. For the anchor show, read our Vietnam Medipharm Expo 2027 guide.

What a booth at VIREC will not do for you

VIREC will not build a care-home network for you, will not register your devices, and will not turn consumer interest into retail distribution by itself. It is a small, young show, so nobody can promise a number of buyers or orders, and Wisematch does not. Không hứa suông — chúng tôi đo bằng deals thực. What it offers is three days next to Vietnam’s main southern healthcare fair, in front of distributors and operators who are deciding which care brands to carry. If the organiser cannot show credible 2025 visitor data by early 2027, we will tell you to put your booth in the Medipharm halls instead, or to visit first.

Frequently asked questions about VIREC

What is VIREC Vietnam?

VIREC is the International Exhibition on Elderly Care and Rehabilitation in Vietnam, organised by VINEXAD with support from the Ministry of Health and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Association of the Elderly. It covers rehabilitation equipment, assistive devices, home-care technology, care services and infrastructure for older people. Its first edition was held at I.C.E Hanoi in December 2025.

When and where is VIREC 2027?

VIREC 2027 takes place from Thursday 5 to Saturday 7 August 2027 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), 799 Nguyen Van Linh, Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City. The dates match on virecexpo.com.vn and the VINEXAD 2027 calendar. It runs at the same time and venue as the 25th Vietnam Medi-Pharm Expo.

How do I book a booth at VIREC 2027?

Book through Wisematch, an official sales agent of VINEXAD, the organiser. Send us your product, device class, target buyers and preferred booth size on WhatsApp (+84 354 624 102) or by email. We reply the same working day in English with booth options, the floor plan and next steps, and tell you whether VIREC or the Medipharm halls fit your buyer better.

How big is VIREC?

The first edition, VIREC 2025 at I.C.E Hanoi on 4–6 December 2025, was announced at about 100 booths by Bao Dau Tu. The official site publishes no exhibitor or visitor counts. Treat it as a focused niche show whose reach comes from the concurrent Medipharm Expo, which had 380 booths in 2026. Wisematch requests the 2025 results for you before you book.

Is VIREC the same as an aged care expo in Australia or China?

No. Searches for “aged care expo” mostly return Australian events in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney, and Shanghai’s senior-care exhibition had nearly 500 exhibitors in 2025. VIREC is a separate Vietnamese exhibition, smaller and newer, aimed at distributors, private care operators, rehab clinics and hospital partners in Vietnam, held alongside Vietnam Medi-Pharm Expo at SECC.

Do elderly care products need registration in Vietnam?

Many do. Monitors, rehabilitation machines and some beds are medical devices: Class A and B need notification with a provincial Department of Health, and Class C and D need a registration number from the Ministry of Health, according to the US International Trade Administration. Furniture and services without medical claims follow ordinary import rules; food supplements have their own registration.
