Vietfood & Beverage – ProPack Hanoi 2026 runs from 4 to 7 November 2026 at I.C.E. Hanoi, 91 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hanoi. It is the 12th Hanoi edition of Vietnam’s main food, beverage and food-processing show, organised by VINEXAD with the Food and Foodstuff Association of Ho Chi Minh City (FFA) and the Vietnam Beverage, Alcohol and Beer Association (VBA). Wisematch is the official sales agent for exhibition space. This guide is written for foreign exhibitors, importers and buyers who are deciding whether the Hanoi edition is worth a flight, and what to do in four days if it is.

Everything below comes from the organiser’s 2025 show report and 2026 brochure, which Wisematch holds as sales agent, plus the visa rules in force in 2026. Where a number is our own calculation, we say so.

In short, it is a four-day show in central Hanoi, inside the grounds of the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace, ten minutes on foot from Hoan Kiem Lake. That location matters more than it sounds: buyers from the city’s retail chains, hotels and distributors can drop in between meetings, which is one reason the Hanoi edition has a high share of walk-in visitors.

What The 2025 Numbers Tell A Foreign Company

The 2025 edition (11th Hanoi edition, 5 to 8 November 2025) is the best guide to what you will find in 2026. The organiser’s show report gives these totals.

Who Stood On The Floor

The country breakdown is where the Hanoi edition becomes useful for planning. Of 350 exhibitors, 229 were Vietnamese. The remaining 121 came from ten countries and territories, and two of them dominated.

Our reading of this table: China and South Korea together brought 98 of the 121 foreign exhibitors, about four in five. Every other country had ten companies or fewer. For a European, Middle Eastern, Japanese or American food brand, that means two things. First, you will not be lost in a crowd of your own competitors, because there is no large national pavilion from your country to compete with. Second, local buyers walk the hall expecting Korean and Chinese products, so anything else stands out by default. Poland showed how a small group can use this: ten companies under the Wielkopolska regional banner, a bartender association running cocktail sessions, and a distribution meeting booked during the show.

Who Walked In

The show report splits the 9,207 trade visitors by business type. We converted the percentages into approximate head counts so you can picture the people, not the pie chart.

Trade visitor typeShareApproximate people (our calculation)
Retailers and department stores21%about 1,930
F&B manufacturers, importers and distributors18%about 1,660
Importers15%about 1,380
Hotel, bar and restaurant management13%about 1,200
Others33%about 3,040

Shares from the VINEXAD 2025 show report. Head counts are 9,207 multiplied by each share, rounded.

Put the two middle rows together and roughly 3,000 visitors in 2025 described themselves as importers, distributors or manufacturers. That is the group a foreign brand is really there to meet. The retail group matters too, because in northern Vietnam many chain buyers also import directly. The hotel and restaurant group is the right audience for premium ingredients, wine, coffee equipment and anything sold to kitchens rather than shelves.

What Exhibitors Said Afterwards

The show report quotes several exhibitors. Three are worth reading closely because they describe different routes to the Vietnamese market.

  • A German process-technology company (Glatt Ingenieurtechnik, exhibiting in the Thuringia state booth) said it was its first time at the show and that it had already made “many good contacts”, aiming to sell German technology into Asia.
  • A Russian frozen-pork supplier (APK Trading) said Hanoi worked well for it because the city is a key economic centre and Russian companies place high expectations on Vietnam.
  • A Korean packaging maker with two factories in Vietnam (Taixin Printing Vina) said it had grown two to three times in three years and planned to exhibit every year.

Read together, the quotes say the Hanoi show works for three kinds of foreign company: equipment makers selling to Vietnamese processors, food exporters looking for northern distributors, and foreign-owned companies already producing in Vietnam that need local customers. If you fit none of the three, read the section on who should wait before booking.

Who Should Go To Vietfood Hanoi, And Who Should Wait

Company typeOur viewWhy
Foreign food or beverage brand looking for a northern Vietnam distributorGoAround 3,000 importer and distributor visitors in 2025, few direct competitors from outside China and Korea
Food-processing or packaging equipment makerGoProPack runs in the same hall; Vietnamese processors attend to see machines working
Foreign-invested factory in Vietnam selling to local buyersGoSame pattern as the Korean packaging exhibitor quoted above
Importer or buyer looking for Vietnamese suppliersVisit (no booth needed)229 Vietnamese exhibitors in 2025; four days is enough to cover the hall twice
Brand with no import partner and no plan for labels and registrationWait, or visit firstInterest you collect cannot turn into orders until the product can legally be imported and sold
Company that only wants a large international crowdChoose Ho Chi Minh CityThe August HCMC edition is about three times bigger (see the comparison table below)

The last two rows are the ones we see most often. A brand arrives with samples and leaves with a stack of business cards, then discovers that every interested distributor asks the same first question: is the product already registered and labelled for Vietnam? If the answer is no, the conversation stops for months. Our guide to company formation in Vietnam explains when it makes sense to set up your own importing entity and when a distributor is enough.

Comparison of Vietfood Hanoi 2025 and Vietfood Ho Chi Minh City 2026 booths, exhibitors and visitors

Ho Chi Minh City is the bigger show and the more international one. Hanoi is smaller, one day longer and closer to the north’s distributors, government buyers and the hotel and restaurant scene of the capital. Northern and southern Vietnam run largely separate distribution networks, so a distributor signed in Ho Chi Minh City rarely covers Hanoi well, and the reverse is also true. Companies that want national coverage often do both, nine months apart. If you can only do one in the next year, our full guide to Vietfood Ho Chi Minh City 2027 sets out the August show in the same format.

The Timing Advantage Nobody Mentions

The Hanoi show closes on 7 November 2026. Lunar New Year (Tet) falls on 6 February 2027. Vietnamese retailers and gift-basket makers place their Tet orders in November and December. A foreign brand that meets a Hanoi distributor in the first week of November is talking to that distributor exactly when Tet assortments are being decided. Arrive in December and the shelves are already planned. This is our observation from working the Tet season with Vietnamese buyers, not a figure from the organiser.

A Competing Show In March 2027

Food & Hospitality Hanoi, organised by Informa Markets, holds its first edition at the same venue, I.C.E. Hanoi, from 17 to 19 March 2027. If your main target is hotels and restaurants, it is worth watching. If you need distributors and retail buyers before Tet, the November Vietfood date is the one that fits.

What Is On Show

The 2026 brochure lists the product groups below. ProPack, the packaging and processing half of the event, shares the hall.

  • Seafood: fresh, frozen (pangasius, basa, shrimp, crab, squid, octopus), dried products, fish sauce, processed and canned seafood, and aquaculture inputs.
  • Beverages: beer of all kinds, soft drinks, juices, mineral water, tea and coffee as finished goods and as raw material, bird’s nest drinks.
  • Health foods: functional foods, ginseng, organic food, products for diabetics, vitamins.
  • Ingredients and additives: food additives, malt, hops, fermentation agents, preservatives, seasonings.
  • Machinery and packaging: processing and packing lines, beverage filling and capping, bottles and cans, cold storage, food washing equipment.

Side Events In 2025

The 2025 programme included a seminar on ESG and green transition for food and beverage exporters, a farm-to-fork value chain conference, a Germany–Vietnam B2B matchmaking session, a cooking workshop, a bartender workshop and kitchen shows from local brands. The 2026 programme is set by VINEXAD and published closer to the date. Expect a similar mix: two or three seminars, at least one country matchmaking session, and live demonstrations.

The Four Weeks Before Opening

WhenWhat to do
Week 1Review the floor plan, choose a position, sign the booth contract, send catalogue details
Week 2Choose five hero products. Print a wholesale price sheet and a one-page distributor policy in English and Vietnamese
Week 3Invite any existing Vietnamese contacts. Order extra power or a chiller if needed. Book an interpreter
Week 4Ship or hand-carry samples. Brief whoever staffs the booth on three opening lines and how to record leads
Before 4 NovemberBooth build-up on the organiser’s schedule
4 to 7 NovemberShow days
Within 72 hours afterMessage every trade lead on Zalo, which most Vietnamese buyers use instead of email for first follow-up

Two details foreign exhibitors underestimate. The first is language: a bilingual price sheet is the single most useful document on the stand, because many buyers from provincial distributors read English slowly and will photograph a Vietnamese page to show their director. The second is Zalo. A QR code for your Zalo business account, or your local partner’s, gets far more replies than an email address on a business card.

Samples And Customs

Food samples for an exhibition still pass through Vietnamese customs and may need documents depending on the product. Many exhibitors hand-carry small quantities of shelf-stable samples and ship anything larger through a forwarder that handles temporary import for exhibitions. Our Vietnamese-language guide to shipping samples to trade fairs covers the documents from the exporter’s side; ask your forwarder to confirm the import side for your exact product before you ship.

A Four-Day Plan For The Show

The show opens on a Wednesday and closes on a Saturday. Based on the 2025 visitor mix, this is how we suggest splitting the days. It is our recommendation, not the organiser’s programme.

  1. Wednesday: opening ceremony in the morning, when officials, embassies and associations walk the hall. Have your most senior person at the booth.
  2. Thursday and Friday: trade days in practice. Book meetings with importers and distributors for these two days, and keep the booth staffed by someone who can quote prices.
  3. Saturday: heavy public traffic. Use it for tasting and consumer feedback, which distributors will ask about later.

How To Record A Lead So It Survives The Flight Home

One row per trade visitor: name, company, province, which product they asked about, what you promised to send, and their Zalo number. A shared spreadsheet on a phone works better than a box of cards. After four days at a busy booth, a card without a note is a stranger.

Visas For The Trip

Vietnam issues e-visas to citizens of all countries and territories, valid for up to 90 days with single or multiple entry, under Resolution 127/NQ-CP. Citizens of twelve countries (Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland) can enter without a visa for up to 45 days under Resolution 44/NQ-CP, valid from 15 March 2025 to 14 March 2028. Most ASEAN citizens have visa-free stays of 14 to 30 days. Rules change, so check the official e-visa portal before you book. If you will sign contracts or work in Vietnam regularly, read our guide to the work permit and temporary residence card.

Buyers looking for specific Vietnamese products, such as coffee, cashews, pepper, seafood or fruit, get more from the show with a shortlist of booths prepared in advance and the same set of questions for each supplier. If you want help preparing that list or booking meetings before you fly, that is part of Wisematch’s business-matching work.

What Wisematch Does At Vietfood

Wisematch is the official sales agent of Vietfood & Beverage – ProPack Vietnam. For exhibitors, we send the floor plan and quotation, hold your position, prepare the booth contract, remind you of each deadline and help with preparation before opening day. For foreign companies, we also help with the steps around the show: finding Vietnamese distributors, translating sales material, arranging meetings and, when a company decides to stay, setting up a company in Vietnam.

To be precise about our role: Wisematch is not the organiser. Floor plans, opening hours and the event programme are decided by VINEXAD. The figures on this page come from the organiser’s reports. We do not have data on exhibitors’ sales.
