Vietnam Cycle Expo 2027 is the 12th Vietnam International Two-Wheel Exhibition, held on 19–21 August 2027 (Thursday to Saturday) at SECC in Ho Chi Minh City. It is the trade show for bicycles, e-bikes, electric motorbikes, parts and batteries, and it suits component makers, brands seeking distributors and buyers sourcing in Vietnam.

Wisematch is an official sales agent of VINEXAD, the organiser of Vietnam Cycle Expo 2027. International companies can book booths, national pavilion space and visitor programmes for Vietnam Cycle Expo 2027 directly through Wisematch — one English-speaking contact on WhatsApp from enquiry to show day.

What Wisematch does for you:

  • Booth selection on the floor plan, booking and contract with VINEXAD, in English.
  • A shared-stand or pavilion option if you want to test the market before taking a full booth.
  • Visa invitation letter support, plus help with temporary import, battery shipping and the official freight forwarder.
  • A pre-show list of Vietnamese assemblers, distributors and dealers to meet, and an interpreter on the stand.
  • Follow-up after the show: plant visits, dealer meetings and the next-step paperwork if you decide to set up in Vietnam.

Vietnam Cycle Expo is the only trade show in Vietnam built entirely around two-wheelers that are pedalled or electric. In Vietnamese it is searched as “triển lãm xe đạp” (bicycle exhibition), “triển lãm xe đạp SECC” or “triển lãm xe điện” (electric vehicle exhibition), because e-bikes and electric scooters now share the floor with road and mountain bikes. It runs in Ho Chi Minh City only; there is no Hanoi edition. The co-organiser is the national industry association, VAMOBA, which matters for a foreign exhibitor: the association brings its Vietnamese manufacturer and dealer members to the hall, and those are the people you cannot easily reach with cold emails.

When is Vietnam Cycle Expo 2027? Dates and show days

Vietnam Cycle Expo 2027 runs 19–21 August 2027 (Thursday to Saturday) at SECC, in the same halls as the Vietnam Sport Show, with the Zhejiang Export Fair alongside.

In practice, a Thursday–Saturday show gives you two trade days and a Saturday when riders, cycling clubs and families come to test bikes. If you sell to dealers, put your meetings on Thursday and Friday. If you want rider feedback on a new e-bike, the Saturday is useful.

The 2024 exhibitor countries give the clearest picture of who comes: Taiwan (China), Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, the US, Japan, France, Singapore, Switzerland, China, Italy and Vietnam (VNA, July 2025). That is a genuine bicycle-industry mix, with the Taiwanese and European cycling nations alongside mainland Chinese suppliers.

Brands on the 2026 floor included Giant, Liv, Java, RoyalBaby, Garmin, Dahon, Sava, Calli, Maxxis, Magicshine, Deli Tire, Tannus Tire, Velo Saddle Vietnam and Sufat, with a Wheeltop DIY workshop, a TACX challenge, a test-ride area and a seminar on green energy for sustainable mobility (organiser release, July 2026). The exhibitor logos on the official site show booths from Velo Vietnam, Kingda Viet Nam, Junfu Vietnam, Ruihong Long An and Xe Đạp Xanh – Makelen, Chinese component makers from Ningbo, Cixi, Tianjin and Shenzhen, testing body TÜV Rheinland, and one distributor stand carrying Calli, Chevaux, Dahon, Merida, Nesto, Satako and XDS. At the 2026 opening, Tô Ngọc Sơn of the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s foreign market development department described the shows as a way to bring firms into “regional and global production and supply chains” (Vietnam News, 13 August 2026).

One honest caveat: the homepage counters (600 booths, 550 exhibitors) are higher than any edition figure published so far, and the 2026 figures cover three shows together. When you book through Wisematch we ask VINEXAD for the Cycle Expo hall plan and exhibitor list on its own, so you know who you will stand next to.

Why exhibit at Vietnam Cycle Expo: five concrete reasons

A booth is worth the money only if the people who buy what you make walk this floor. Here is why, for the right companies, they do.

1. Vietnam is an export base for e-bikes and bicycles, and its factories need parts

Vietnam is not only a market; it is a production base. Eurostat reports that in 2023 Vietnam supplied 16% of the European Union’s imports of electric bicycles by value, second only to Taiwan (59%) and ahead of China (6%) (Eurostat, 3 June 2024). Factories assembling for European and American brands buy frames, motors, controllers, batteries, drivetrains, tyres and saddles. Many of them — Vietnamese-owned and foreign-invested — exhibit or walk the hall at Vietnam Cycle Expo. If you supply components, this is where you meet their purchasing and engineering teams without flying to each plant.

2. Electric two-wheelers are the fastest-moving part of Vietnam’s vehicle market

About 209,000 electric motorbikes were sold in Vietnam in the first half of 2025, up 99.2% year on year, making Vietnam the world’s third-largest e-motorbike market after China and India (Motorcycles Data via Tuoi Tre News, 14 August 2025). VinFast alone reported 406,453 electric motorbikes sold in Vietnam in 2025, nearly five times its 2024 figure, and had installed about 4,500 battery-swapping stations (Vietnam News, 13 March 2026). Honda, Yamaha, Yadea, Pega, Dat Bike and Selex Motors are all pushing electric models and charging or swapping services. Petrol bikes still dominate — the five members of the Vietnam Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers sold 2.615 million units in 2025 (Vietnam News, March 2026) — which is exactly why the conversion opportunity is large. Suppliers of batteries, battery-management systems, chargers, motors and controllers have a buyer base here that is growing every year.

3. City policy is pushing riders off petrol, slowly but in one direction

The Prime Minister’s Directive 20 of July 2025 set a phased plan to restrict fossil-fuel motorbikes in Hanoi, starting inside Ring Road 1 and extending to Ring Road 2 from 2028 and Ring Road 3 by 2030 (Vietnam News, 5 August 2025). In Ho Chi Minh City, a green-mobility plan restricts older, high-emission motorbikes in a central zone and requires ride-hailing motorbikes to switch to electric by the end of 2028 (Tuoi Tre News, August 2025). Hanoi has since slowed the timetable: in April 2026 it said it would pilot low-emission zones area by area rather than apply a blanket ban from July 2026 (Tuoi Tre News, 7 April 2026). The direction has not changed, and the practical problems — battery life, swapping, safe charging in older apartment buildings, after-sales service — are what buyers at the show want solved now.

4. You meet the distribution channel in one hall

Selling bicycles or e-bikes in Vietnam runs through distributors and dealer networks. At Vietnam Cycle Expo the distributors exhibit themselves: one 2026 stand carried seven international brands. That tells you how a new brand enters — by convincing a multi-brand distributor that your range fills a gap in price, category or margin. Three days on the floor lets you see every portfolio, compare dealer terms, and hold first meetings with three or four candidates. Doing the same by email from abroad usually takes months.

5. Two more audiences next door: sport and Zhejiang manufacturers

The show runs alongside Vietnam Sport Show (fitness, outdoor and sports technology) and the Zhejiang Export Fair, which in 2026 brought manufacturers from Zhejiang province specialising in sports gear, bicycles, accessories and consumer goods (Vietnam News, 13 August 2026). For a helmet, apparel, wearables or cycling-accessory brand, that doubles the relevant buyers per trip. For a Vietnamese importer, it means one visit covers the Taiwanese, European and Chinese supply side at once.

Vietnam Cycle Expo vs other bicycle shows in Asia

Vietnam Cycle Expo is not the biggest bicycle show in Asia, and it does not try to be. The question is which buyers you need. Dates below are the latest published by Bike Europe’s show calendar and coverage; the 2027 international calendar is still moving, so check each organiser before you plan.

ShowUsual timingFocusMain buyer typeCost profile for a foreign exhibitor
Vietnam Cycle Expo, Ho Chi Minh CityAugustBicycles, e-bikes, e-motorbikes, parts, batteriesVietnamese distributors and dealers; Vietnam-based assemblers and exportersMid-size show; shorter flights within Asia; lower stand-build and hotel costs than the big hubs
Taipei Cycle, TaiwanMarch (25 March start in 2026)Global bicycle and component industryInternational brands and component buyersLarge international show; higher competition for attention
China Cycle, ShanghaiMay (5–8 May 2026)Chinese bicycle and e-bike supply chainInternational sourcing buyersVery large; dominated by Chinese suppliers
Eurobike, FrankfurtJune–July (organiser moved 2027 back to this window, Bike Europe, Sep 2026)European bicycle and e-bike marketEuropean brands, dealers and specifiersHigh travel and stand costs for Asian exhibitors

Bike Europe reported in September 2026 that the European show landscape is fragmenting, with Eurobike changing dates twice and new shows launching in Cologne and Amsterdam for 2027. For Asian suppliers that means more choice and less certainty in Europe. A regional show with a stable August slot and a clear buyer base is easier to plan around.

The short version: go to Taipei or Eurobike to be seen by the global industry. Go to Vietnam Cycle Expo to sell into Vietnam, or to sell parts to factories that are already in Vietnam. Many component suppliers do both, and use Ho Chi Minh City for the follow-up plant visits that the big shows cannot give them.

Who should exhibit, who should visit, and who should not

Company typeWhat you can achieveFit
Battery, BMS, charger and battery-swap suppliersMeet e-motorbike and e-bike makers, fleet operators and dealers looking for safer, longer-life batteries and swap solutionsStrong
Motor, controller, drivetrain and frame makersMeet purchasing teams of Vietnam-based assemblers exporting to the EU and USStrong
Bicycle and e-bike brands without a Vietnam distributorShortlist and meet multi-brand distributors; test pricing with dealersGood, if you bring dealer margins and marketing support
Tyres, saddles, lights, helmets, accessoriesMeet dealers, e-commerce sellers and assemblers; use Sport Show traffic tooGood, competitive
Testing, certification and compliance servicesMeet exporters who need EU and US conformityGood, niche
Buyers and importers (visitors)Compare Taiwanese, European, Chinese and Vietnamese suppliers in one hall; join B2B matchingStrong
Petrol motorbike parts onlySome dealer contactsWeak — policy is moving the other way
Vehicle brands with no after-sales or spare-parts plan in VietnamInterest, but few signed dealersNot yet — come as a visitor first

Our rule of thumb: a clear customer profile gets you to the right buyer, and the right buyer closes faster. If you can name the five Vietnamese companies you want to sign within a year, this show will help you meet them. If you cannot, visit first.

How to take part in Vietnam Cycle Expo 2027, step by step

Counting back from 19 August 2027, you have about ten months. Here is the timeline we use with exhibitors, and what Wisematch does at each step.

  1. November–December 2026 — decide and shortlist. Send Wisematch your product range and target buyers. We tell you whether the show fits and which hall zone suits you, and we get the latest floor plan and booth availability from VINEXAD.
  2. By February 2027 — book the booth. Choose a shell-scheme booth (walls, fascia, lighting, furniture included) for components and accessories, or raw space if you will show vehicles, ramps or a test-ride set-up. Wisematch handles the booking form and contract with VINEXAD in English. If you prefer to test the market, ask about a place in a shared stand or a national pavilion.
  3. March–May 2027 — product and compliance checks. Electric motorbikes and some e-bikes need type approval before sale in Vietnam. Display samples can enter under temporary import, but buyers will ask about certification. We point you to the right procedure and timeline.
  4. May–June 2027 — logistics. Lithium batteries ship as dangerous goods and need correct packing and documents. Wisematch coordinates with the show’s official freight forwarder, Tradelinks Logistics, or your own forwarder, for temporary import and re-export or clearance.
  5. June–July 2027 — visas and meetings. Most nationalities can use Vietnam’s e-visa (up to 90 days) and some have visa exemptions; Wisematch provides invitation letters where needed (see our visa guide for trade fairs). We build a list of 30–40 named targets — assemblers, distributors, dealer groups, delivery fleets — and book meetings before you fly.
  6. Show days — on the stand. A Wisematch interpreter works with your team; we walk distributor and competitor stands with you on day one and bring booked visitors to the booth.
  7. Within a week after — follow-up. Vietnamese buyers expect a quick follow-up in Vietnamese with price lists, dealer terms and a proposal to visit their plant or showroom. We help set up those visits. If the show leads to a local entity, see setting up a trading company in Vietnam and IRC and ERC licences.

Getting there: SECC states it is about 20 minutes from central Ho Chi Minh City and 45 minutes from Tan Son Nhat International Airport. Halls A and B are column-free with a 76-metre span and a floor load of 5,000 kg/m², and there is about 22,000 m² of outdoor space, useful for test rides (SECC). Vietfood & Beverage – ProPack runs at SECC the week before; see SECC events 2027.

What a booth at Vietnam Cycle Expo will not do for you

A booth will not get your vehicle approved for Vietnamese roads, will not build a dealer network in three days, and will not stop a buyer comparing your price with the Chinese supplier two aisles away. Dealers want warranty terms and spare-parts stock before they sign; factories want samples, test reports and a second meeting. The show puts you in front of the right people in one place. The contract depends on your preparation and the follow-up. We do not promise a number of leads or orders — Don’t go to trade shows to hope — go to control probability.

Frequently asked questions about Vietnam Cycle Expo

When is Vietnam Cycle Expo 2027?
