In short: IEAE, the Vietnam International Electronics & Smart Appliances Expo, is a B2B sourcing fair for consumer electronics, small home appliances and electronic components. The 2027 edition runs 18–21 November 2027 at VEC, Hanoi. It suits appliance brands, OEM/ODM factories and component suppliers looking for Vietnamese distributors, retailers and online sellers.

Wisematch and IEAE. IEAE is organised by Chaoyu Expo and co-organised by VINEXAD. Wisematch is an official sales agent of VINEXAD. International companies can book booths, national pavilion space and visitor programmes for IEAE 2027 directly through Wisematch — one English-speaking contact on WhatsApp from enquiry to show day.

What Wisematch does for you:

  • Booth selection and contract: we send the floor plan, compare positions in your hall and handle the booking paperwork with the organisers.
  • Shared stand option: if a full booth is too much for a first test, we book you space inside a country or group pavilion.
  • Visa invitation letter support for your team, and hotel and transport planning for Dong Anh.
  • Sample shipping and temporary import through the fair’s appointed forwarder, plus a checklist of the Vietnamese product approvals your goods may need.
  • A buyer meeting list built around your product, an interpreter on the stand, and follow-up in Vietnamese after the show.

What is IEAE Vietnam (triển lãm điện tử và thiết bị thông minh)?

IEAE is a trade fair where manufacturers of electronics, small appliances and components meet the Vietnamese companies that resell, private-label or assemble them. If you searched “IEAE” and landed here, note that the acronym is also used by unrelated bodies outside Vietnam, including an Indian education organisation. This page is only about the Vietnam fair, which Vietnamese buyers search as “triển lãm điện tử”, “triển lãm điện tử hà nội” or “triển lãm thiết bị thông minh”.

The organiser, Chaoyu Expo, is a Chinese exhibition company that runs the same three-show format in Vietnam: IEAE for electronics, IGHE for gifts and housewares and IBTE for baby products and toys. VINEXAD, the state-owned trade-fair company that also runs Vietnam Expo, is the Vietnamese co-organiser. In May 2024, Chaoyu Expo’s project director Chris Wu told Vietnam Investment Review (VIR) that the organiser had run the format in India, Indonesia, Russia, China and Vietnam, and that its aim was “to build IEAE into a professional and influential B2B electronics and smart device exhibition in Southeast Asia”.

The supply side is mainly Chinese. The organiser’s 2026 introduction names exhibitors from Shenzhen, Dongguan, Ningbo, Zhongshan and Foshan, including Remax (3C accessories), Dongguan WUQUE Precision Technology (custom mechanical keyboards), Shenzhen Sanlida Electrical Technology (kitchen appliances) and Guangdong Chunmi Electrical Appliance Technology (smart kitchen robots). The demand side is Vietnamese: distributors, chains, online sellers and factories.

That shapes the fair for a foreign exhibitor. For Vietnamese buyers, IEAE is a place to compare hundreds of suppliers in one hall. For a non-Chinese brand, it is a room full of buyers who are actively comparing — and a room full of competitors. Both facts matter when you decide what to show and how to price it.

What is on show: the three IEAE zones

  • Consumer electronics: audio and video devices, wearables and smart glasses, phone and tablet accessories, gaming and computer peripherals, livestreaming kit, chargers and power banks, drones and in-car electronics (VIR, October 2025; ieae.com.vn 2026).
  • Home appliances and smart home: rice cookers, air fryers, induction cookers, multi-cookers, kettles and juicers, air purifiers, robot vacuums, energy-saving fans, personal-care devices and other smart home products.
  • Electronic components and accessories: circuit boards, sensors and modules for 3C electronics, smart appliances and telecoms equipment, “ranging from basic components to fully integrated modules” (VIR, 19 October 2026).

Alongside the stands, the fair runs B2B matching for VIP buyers, a buyer tour route, seminars on market trends and e-commerce, and a smart-device experience area where visitors can try products.

If you can travel to Hanoi on 5–7 November 2026, two weeks after this update, walking IEAE Hanoi 2026 is the cheapest way to judge the 2027 edition: count competitors in your category and see which buyer types actually walk the floor.

How big is IEAE? Exhibitors, booths and visitors by edition

All figures below are the organisers’ own, as published by the fair or reported by the press. None is audited, and most are forecasts published before the show.

Read plainly, IEAE is a mid-size specialist fair of around 300 exhibitors, not a mega-show. The Hanoi edition has grown fast: from 6,000 m² at I.C.E in 2025 to more than 20,000 m² at VEC in 2026, with booths rising from 350+ to 550+. Exhibitor numbers have been stable between 260 and 350+ since 2025, apart from the 2024 headline of 600 businesses, which may count more than exhibitors. When you book, ask for the final exhibitor list of the previous edition, not the forecast.

Why exhibit at IEAE Vietnam: five concrete reasons

A booth only makes sense if the people walking past can buy what you make. Here is what IEAE offers that is hard to get elsewhere, with the numbers behind it.

1. Vietnam’s online appliance market is growing, and its sellers need new products

Metric.vn, the e-commerce analytics platform, measured VND10.3 trillion (about US$395 million) of electronics and home-appliance sales on Shopee, TikTok Shop, Lazada and Tiki in the first four months of 2026 alone, from almost 580,000 merchants selling 31.7 million products (VnEconomy, 11 July 2026). TikTok Shop’s share of that category jumped to 37% from 21% a year earlier, and the average selling price rose 7.8% to VND323,500. Across all categories, the four platforms took VND429 trillion in 2025, up nearly 34.8% on 2024 (Metric, via Vietnam News, January 2026).

What this means for you: hundreds of thousands of online sellers need a steady supply of new, differentiated products, and many of them source at fairs rather than in Shenzhen. The 2026 organiser brief says IEAE focuses on “product categories that are in high demand across e-commerce platforms” and connects online sellers directly with manufacturers. If you can offer exclusive designs, small first orders and fast restocking, this is your buyer.

2. Distributors want exclusive lines, not one more copy of what is already online

VIR’s October 2026 preview says exhibitors bring “exclusive designs developed specifically for the Vietnamese market”, helping distributors and dealers “reduce direct price competition among similar products”. That is the pain point you can solve. A Vietnamese dealer carrying the same air fryer as twenty Shopee shops has no margin. A Japanese, Korean or European appliance brand that offers a protected distribution agreement, warranty support and marketing material has a clear reason to be on the floor. Sunhouse, a large Vietnamese appliance company, told VIR in 2024 that at IEAE 2023 it “met many suppliers who can meet product quality requirements” — the buyer mindset is qualification first, price second.

3. Private-label demand from Vietnamese brands

OEM, ODM and private-label manufacturing is a named feature of the 2026 edition: VCCI’s report describes it as suited to “domestic brands, importers and businesses that want to expand their product range or develop products under their own brand”. Vietnamese appliance and accessory brands are growing with retail, and many do not own factories. If you are a contract manufacturer with certification, design support and reasonable minimum order quantities, IEAE puts you in front of brand owners who are actively looking for a production partner.

4. A components zone next to northern Vietnam’s electronics base

Vietnam exported US$175.4 billion of electronics, computers and phones in the first nine months of 2026, and imported US$188.9 billion of electronics, computers and components over the same period, up 71.7% (VIR, 5 October 2026). Production inputs made up 93.6% of Vietnam’s 2025 imports (NSO). The Hanoi edition at VEC sits in the north, within driving distance of the Bắc Ninh, Thái Nguyên and Hải Phòng electronics clusters, and the 2026 brief explicitly targets “assembly plants, repair service providers” and “international sourcing offices based in Vietnam and foreign-invested businesses”. Be realistic: Samsung-scale assemblers buy through global supply contracts, not booths. The opportunity is with tier-2 and tier-3 factories, repair networks and sourcing offices that need local stock and short lead times.

5. One week, three fairs, one trip

In November 2027 IEAE runs alongside IGHE (gifts and housewares) and IBTE (baby products and toys) at VEC on the same dates. Many Vietnamese retailers and importers buy across these categories. A supplier of small kitchen appliances, children’s electronics or electronic gifts can meet buyers from all three shows in one visit, and a buyer can source across categories without three separate trips. And because the show sits in November, it lands while retailers are planning stock for Tết, the Lunar New Year, which in 2028 falls in late January.

IEAE vs other electronics trade shows for Vietnam

IEAE is not the only electronics event a Vietnam-focused supplier could choose. The right one depends on whether you sell finished goods to resellers or equipment to factories.

How to exhibit at IEAE 2027, step by step

Counted back from the calendar opening day, 18 November 2027. Don’t go to trade shows to hope — go to control probability. Each step below is something Wisematch handles with you.

  1. November 2026 – January 2027: decide. If possible, visit IEAE Hanoi 2026 (5–7 November). Send Wisematch your product list and the buyer types you need. We tell you whether IEAE fits, which hall and neighbours to aim for, and whether a shared stand makes more sense for a first year.
  2. February – April 2027: book. Wisematch gets the 2027 floor plan from the organisers, holds your preferred position and handles the contract. Booth types normally offered at this format are shell scheme booths (walls, fascia, basic furniture and lighting) and raw space for a custom build; ask us for the current options.
  3. April – July 2027: check product compliance. Electrical goods sold in Vietnam may need conformity certification, energy labelling for listed appliances and, for wireless products, type approval. These are not needed to display samples, but buyers will ask. Wisematch sends a checklist so you can confirm with a licensed testing body.
  4. July – September 2027: plan logistics and visas. Samples travel through the fair’s appointed forwarder under temporary import. Wisematch coordinates the paperwork and the deadline for arrival at VEC. For your team, we provide invitation letters where a business visa is needed; many nationalities can use Vietnam’s e-visa or a visa exemption. See our business visa guide for trade fairs.
  5. September – October 2027: build the meeting list. ICP clear → meet the right buyer → close faster. Wisematch drafts a list of 30–50 named targets by type — distributors, chain buyers, online sellers, private-label owners, factories — and sends invitations in Vietnamese. You prepare a Vietnamese catalogue with MOQ, lead time, warranty terms and USD prices.
  6. Show days, 18–21 November 2027. Keep Thursday and Friday for scheduled B2B meetings; weekends may draw more public visitors. A Wisematch interpreter works the stand with you and logs each conversation.
  7. Within a week after. Wisematch follows up every qualified contact in Vietnamese, sends samples or quotes, and books second meetings while retailers are still planning Tết stock.

Getting to VEC

  • Venue: Vietnam Exhibition Center (VEC), Dong Anh, Hanoi. Opened 19 August 2025; its Kim Quy hall has 10 main halls and nearly 93,055 m² by the operator’s figures, with floors rated up to five tonnes per m². Venue guide: VEC Hanoi events 2027.
  • From Noi Bai airport: about 15 minutes by road (Tuoi Tre News, 2024). From central Hanoi, allow 30–45 minutes at peak times.
  • Hotels: most visitors stay in central Hanoi or near the airport; Wisematch can arrange transfers for show days.

Cost lines to plan for (no prices here)

Wisematch does not publish booth prices because they depend on size, position and booth type. Plan for: space or shell scheme, stand build if raw space, power for live demos, freight and temporary import, product testing where needed, interpreter and Vietnamese print, hotels and transport to Dong Anh, and a follow-up trip. We quote all of these in writing before you commit.

What a booth at IEAE will not do for you

A booth will not certify your products, sign a distributor for you, or protect you from price comparison with the stand next door. It gives you three or four days in a hall with buyers who resell. Results depend on meetings booked before the show and follow-up in Vietnamese after it. No organiser or agent can promise a number of buyers, leads or orders — and we don’t. No empty promises: we measure ourselves by real deals.

Is the IEAE electronics expo legit?

People search “is electronics expo legit” after receiving an invitation, and the caution is sensible. Here is what can be verified about IEAE:

  • It is co-organised by VINEXAD, a trade-fair company founded in 1975 and a UFI member since 2019, which also runs Vietnam Expo, the international trade fair hosted under the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
  • Its editions are covered by Vietnamese business media, including Vietnam Investment Review (published under the Ministry of Finance) and VCCI’s news site, with organiser photos and named associations.
  • Industry associations such as VEIA and the Vietnam E-commerce Association are listed as supporters on the official site.

What nobody can verify in advance is the visitor count or the commercial result of any edition: the figures are organiser forecasts. Be careful with third parties selling “guaranteed buyer meetings” or visitor databases. Book through the organisers’ authorised channel: Wisematch, as an official sales agent of VINEXAD, books IEAE space under the organisers’ contract and invoice.

What products are shown at the Vietnam IEAE Expo?

Three zones: consumer electronics (audio, wearables, phone and computer accessories, gaming, livestreaming kit, chargers and power banks), home and smart appliances (rice cookers, air fryers, purifiers, robot vacuums, personal-care devices) and electronic components and modules. Many exhibitors also offer OEM, ODM and private-label manufacturing for Vietnamese brands and importers.

Who visits IEAE?

The organisers target Vietnamese importers, distributors and dealers, retail chains, e-commerce sellers, local brand owners, assembly plants, repair service providers, international sourcing offices and foreign-invested firms in Vietnam. Registered visitors for the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City edition included Panasonic, FPT, TikTok Shop, Mobifone and VNG, according to VIR. Public visitors are also admitted.

Is IEAE Hanoi or IEAE Ho Chi Minh City better?

The Ho Chi Minh City edition (late May, SECC) has more published evidence of retail and e-commerce buyers. The Hanoi edition at VEC is newer, grew to 20,000+ m² in 2026, sits near northern electronics factories and shares its 2027 week with IGHE and IBTE. Consumer brands seeking national distribution often start in HCMC; component suppliers and multi-category suppliers look at Hanoi.

Is IEAE in Vietnam related to the Indian IEAE?

No. The acronym IEAE is also used by unrelated organisations in India and elsewhere, which is why global searches for “IEAE” mix results. The Vietnam IEAE Expo is the Vietnam International Electronics & Smart Appliances Expo, a trade fair held in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi and organised by Chaoyu Expo with VINEXAD.
