In short: IBTE 2027, the Vietnam International Baby Products & Toys Expo, runs 18–21 November 2027 at VEC, Hanoi. Organised by Chaoyu Expo and co-organised by VINEXAD, it covers toys, trendy collectibles, licensed products, baby goods and stationery, and suits brands and manufacturers looking for Vietnamese importers, retail chains and e-commerce sellers.
IBTE is co-organised by VINEXAD, and Wisematch is an official sales agent of VINEXAD. International companies can book booths, national pavilion space and visitor programmes for IBTE 2027 directly through Wisematch — one English-speaking contact on WhatsApp from enquiry to show day.
What Wisematch does for you:
- Booth selection and contract, in English, including which IBTE edition (Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City) reaches your buyers.
- A shared-stand or pavilion option if you want to test the market first.
- Visa invitation letters, sample shipping and temporary import, and guidance on Vietnam’s toy-safety rules before you ship.
- A pre-show list of mother-and-baby chains, toy retailers, e-commerce sellers and kindergarten groups, with meetings booked and an interpreter on your stand.
- Follow-up after the show, timed for Tết (Lunar New Year) ordering, plus help setting up a local entity if you decide to import yourself.

IBTE is the fair Vietnamese buyers find when they search “triển lãm đồ chơi trẻ em” (children’s toy exhibition), “triển lãm quốc tế đồ chơi trẻ em” or “triển lãm mẹ và bé” (mother-and-baby exhibition). It is a business-to-business fair first: hundreds of manufacturers meeting the people who resell to Vietnamese parents. Its structure matters. The lead organiser is Chaoyu Expo, a Chinese exhibition company that recruits factories from China’s toy and baby-product hubs; VINEXAD, Vietnam’s state-founded trade-fair organiser, is co-organiser and brings the Vietnamese trade associations, retail chains and ministry support. That makes IBTE the largest concentration of toy and baby-product supply you will find on one floor in Vietnam.
IBTE dates: which edition, which city

| IBTE 2027 | 18–21 Nov 2027 | VEC, Hanoi | VINEXAD 2027 calendar |
Since 2026 IBTE has run twice a year, a Hanoi edition at VEC and a Ho Chi Minh City edition at SECC. In 2027 the Hanoi edition runs in November, sharing VEC with IEAE and IGHE, rather than June. Whether a Ho Chi Minh City edition also runs in 2027 has not been published. This matters if your buyers are in the south: a distributor based in Ho Chi Minh City may not fly to Dong Anh. When you enquire, Wisematch confirms with VINEXAD which 2027 editions are planned and which one your target buyers attend.
IBTE 2023–2026 in figures
| Edition | Floor area | Booths | Exhibitors | Visitors | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2023, SECC | n/p | n/p | Nearly 200 | 12,778 from 21+ countries and territories | Báo Quốc tế, 3 Dec 2024 |
| 2024, SECC | 10,000 m² | 500 | About 200 | 15,000+ expected; 42,700+ reported later | Báo Quốc tế, 3 Dec 2024; VCCI (Vietnam+), 3 Dec 2025 |
| 2025, SECC | 10,000+ m² | 500+ | 250+ | About 40,000 expected | VIR, 18 Dec 2025; VCCI, 3 Dec 2025 |
| 2026 Hanoi, VEC | About 20,000 m² | 1,000+ | 500+ | Not published | Tạp chí Công Thương, 19 Jun 2026 |
n/p = not published. All figures are organiser figures quoted in the press and are not independently audited. Visitor counting methods are not stated.
Two things stand out. First, the move to VEC doubled the floor: from about 10,000 m² and 500 booths in Ho Chi Minh City to about 20,000 m² and 1,000+ booths in Hanoi. If the November 2027 edition stays at that scale, expect more competitors per aisle and a bigger premium on pre-booked meetings. Second, booths per exhibitor stayed around two, so this is a floor of many mid-size stands rather than a few giant pavilions. A well-designed 9–18 m² booth does not look out of place.
Named exhibitors give a sense of the mix: trendy-toy brands HAYIDAI and KIMMON used the 2025 edition for launches and limited releases (VCCI, citing Vietnam+), and 2024 exhibitors included La Toys, Yodee, Toy City, Suamoon, 1983 Toys, OC Star and Baby Three, with companies from Vietnam, China, Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea and India (Báo Quốc tế).

What is on show at the IBTE expo
- Trendy and collectible toys — blind boxes, art toys and pop-culture collectibles, the fastest-moving category on recent floors.
- Licensed toys and IP — character and brand licensing through the Global Licensing Expo (GLE), which connects licensors in animation, film, museums, art and fashion with manufacturers, retailers and licensees (ibte.com.vn).
- Toys and children’s products — plastic, wooden, plush, ride-on and electronic toys, strollers and children’s bicycles.
- Baby and maternity products — care, feeding and safety products for infants.
- Educational toys and preschool equipment — learning toys and play-area equipment for kindergartens.
- Stationery — school supplies for children.
The programme adds B2B matching, VIP buyer tours, forums and talks, and on the public side mini-games and lucky draws. Families do come, especially at the weekend, which is useful for testing products and less useful for signing distributors.
Why exhibit at IBTE Vietnam: five reasons
1. Parents are spending more per child
Vietnam has 102.3 million people (2025), but the total fertility rate has fallen to 1.93 births per woman, from 2.1 in 2021 (Vietnam Population Authority, via Tuoi Tre News, 24 January 2026). GDP per capita passed US$5,000 in 2025 (NSO, via Vietnam News). Fewer children and higher incomes mean more spending per child. Tô Ngọc Sơn of the Ministry of Industry and Trade made the same point about IBTE 2025: parents are more willing to pay for higher-quality products and expect toys to combine play with learning (VIR, 18 December 2025). That favours products with a clear safety, educational or design claim.
2. One floor gives you the whole Vietnamese buying side
IBTE’s partners include the Vietnam Retailers Association, the Vietnam E-commerce Association and VCCI, and its programme runs B2B matching and VIP buyer tours. The people walking the hall are the ones who decide what reaches Vietnamese shelves and marketplaces: mother-and-baby chains, toy and gift retailers, importers and online sellers. Retail sales of goods and services grew 9.2% in 2025 to more than VND7 quadrillion (NSO, via VNA), and much of the toy trade now moves online, so expect buyers to ask which platforms you support.
3. A licensing marketplace you will not find elsewhere in Vietnam
The Global Licensing Expo runs inside IBTE. For licensors and agents, it is a practical place to meet Vietnamese manufacturers and retailers who want characters and brands on their products. The ministry has also warned that children’s products must respect intellectual property and safety standards, with enforcement being stepped up (Tạp chí Công Thương, June 2026) — which raises the value of properly licensed content.
4. November timing lines up with Tết ordering
An 18–21 November show lands just as retailers finalise stock for Tết (Lunar New Year, early February 2028), the biggest gifting season of the year. A buyer who meets you in November can still place a Tết order if your lead times allow. The co-located IGHE gifts and housewares fair brings gift buyers into the same venue the same week.
5. VEC is new, large and next to the airport
VEC in Dong Anh opened in August 2025; the Kim Quy exhibition building has ten halls and about 93,000 m² (operator figures), and the site is about 15 minutes from Noi Bai International Airport (Tuoi Tre News). For a foreign exhibitor that means short transfers, modern halls and room for a larger floor than Hanoi’s older venues could offer. More on the venue in VEC Hanoi events 2027.

IBTE vs other toy and baby-product fairs
| Fair | When and where | Focus | Main buyer type | Cost profile for a foreign exhibitor |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| IBTE | 18–21 Nov 2027, VEC Hanoi (HCMC edition in Dec 2026) | Toys, trendy toys, licensing, baby products, stationery | Vietnamese importers, chains, e-commerce sellers, kindergartens | Mid-size fair; lower stand, travel and hotel costs than the global hubs |
| Spielwarenmesse, Nuremberg | 2–6 Feb 2027 | Global toy industry | International brands, retailers and buyers | Largest global toy fair; high competition and cost |
| HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair | January (listings show 11–14 Jan 2027; confirm with HKTDC) | Asian toy sourcing | International sourcing buyers | Large; dominated by Hong Kong and mainland Chinese suppliers |
| IGHE, VEC Hanoi | 18–21 Nov 2027, same venue | Gifts and housewares | Gift retailers and importers | Same week; useful for gift-oriented children’s products |
The short version: Nuremberg and Hong Kong are where the world buys toys. IBTE is where Vietnam buys them. If your goal is a Vietnamese importer or a place on Vietnamese shelves, IBTE gets you in front of those buyers at a fraction of the travel cost.
Who should exhibit at IBTE, who should visit, and who should wait
| Company type | What you can achieve | Fit |
|---|---|---|
| Toy and baby-product brands seeking an exclusive Vietnamese importer | Meet several importers and chains in four days; compare terms | Strong |
| Manufacturers (OEM/ODM) with Vietnam-compliant test reports | Sell to distributors, chains and online sellers; this is the fair’s core use | Strong — expect many competitors |
| Licensors and licensing agents | Meet Vietnamese licensees through GLE | Good, niche |
| Educational toy and preschool equipment suppliers | Reach kindergarten groups and education distributors in the Hanoi market | Good |
| Premium European, Japanese, Korean or US brands | Stand out on safety and design; find a premium importer | Good if you do not compete on price |
| Importers, chains and e-commerce sellers (visitors) | Source from hundreds of factories in one place; B2B matching | Strong |
| Infant formula and baby-food makers | Some contacts, but food registration and food buyers point elsewhere | Weak — consider Vietfood & Beverage HCMC |
| Exporters seeking European or US buyers | Few — IBTE is an inbound fair | Weak |
| Brands that cannot meet Vietnamese toy-safety rules within a year | Interest you cannot convert | Wait |
How to take part in IBTE 2027, step by step
Counting back from 18 November 2027, you have about 13 months.
- Now to December 2026 — look before you book. If you are in the region, visit IBTE HCMC (10–13 December 2026, SECC) as a trade visitor; Wisematch can arrange a visitor programme with a few distributor meetings. Note the share of Chinese exhibitors in your category and how GLE is laid out.
- By February 2027 — confirm the edition. Wisematch confirms with VINEXAD which IBTE editions run in 2027, the hall plan, and the 2026 exhibitor list for your category.
- By April 2027 — book the booth. Choose a shell-scheme booth (walls, fascia, lighting, furniture) or raw space for a custom stand. Wisematch handles the booking and contract in English, or a place in a shared stand if you want to start smaller.
- May–August 2027 — product compliance. Toys sold in Vietnam must meet national technical regulation QCVN 3:2019/BKHCN, which covers mechanical and physical properties, flammability, chemical content and electric toys. Imported toys go through state quality inspection, conformity declaration and the CR mark before sale. Display samples can usually enter under temporary import, but serious buyers will ask for test reports. Procedures have been revised several times, so we check the current process for you; this page is not legal advice.
- September 2027 — logistics and visas. Wisematch coordinates sample shipping and temporary import with the official forwarder, Tradelinks Logistics, or your own. E-visas are open to all nationalities for up to 90 days, and we provide invitation letters where needed (see our visa guide for trade fairs).
- October 2027 — meetings. We invite 30–50 named buyers: mother-and-baby chains, toy retailers, e-commerce sellers, kindergarten groups and licensees. Prepare a Vietnamese catalogue with prices, minimum order quantities and lead times.
- 18–21 November 2027 — on the stand. Plan B2B meetings for Thursday and Friday; the weekend draws more families. A Wisematch interpreter works with your team.
- By the end of November — follow up. Tết orders are decided now. Send quotes in Vietnamese within a week. If you decide to import yourself, see setting up a trading company in Vietnam.

What a booth at IBTE will not do for you
A booth at IBTE will not certify your toys, will not choose your importer, and will not stop a buyer comparing your price with the factory three stands away. What you take home depends on the meetings you set before arriving, the test reports you bring, and how fast you follow up. We do not promise a number of buyers, leads or orders. Don’t go to trade shows to hope — go to control probability.
